Successful people are good at setting goals.  They know that work / life balance doesn’t just happen, it needs to be intentional.  Having a plan helps them be clear on what they are looking to achieve, so that the tasks associated with moving forward can easily be identified and the distractions can be dismissed.

They separate the goals by career, financial, family and personal and then list the tasks associated with each one so that every day they can be making progress.  But having a list is of no value without action.  For the plan to be effective, the actions have to be specific, they have to have a time frame, and there needs to be an accountability partner to help you celebrate your success or re-tool the plan.
